Self Led textile group - now called Craft WAGS:-

Every Wednesday, between 10.30am and 2.30pm, there is a self led textile group for people working on projects such as sewing, felting and knitting. All welcome, small donations welcomed to join in at the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum (the group are looking for interesting speakers and demonstrators).




Stitching at the Priory:-

This Friday welcomes the start of the Birkenhead Priory stitch group, drawing on the rich history of the priory, participants will be taught various embroidery techniques which will be brought together in a collaborative exhibition at the end of the year.

Williamson Art Gallery and Museum Talks:  April 18th 11.30-12.30
Horatio Clare is an award winning author and journalist. He has written a number of books including:  Running for the Hills   about his childhood in the Black Mountains and A Single Swallow about an epic journey following barn swallows from South Africa to South Wales. Down to the Sea in Ships, his most recent book, is the story of two voyages that Clare undertook and has been much acclaimed. The Times called it: “stupendous and extraordinarily exciting “. It is part travel, history, autobiography & sea stories and is described as “a warm and captivating study of the men who live their lives at sea.” He will be reading from and talking about his latest work.

Free, donations welcome. Programme to be announced.  The talks are scheduled for 11.30am on Saturdays and are free and in Gallery Four at the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum in Birkenhead. Book through: FriendsWilliamson@gmail.com
