Tom Verity, 2nd principal clarinet with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, in a programme celebrating works by composers from the North West of England including the late lamented John McCabe (born Huyton, just outside Liverpool) who died earlier this year and a premier from Martin Bussey.
Sunday 30th August
Soprano Heather Heighway, graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire, singing songs ranging from Pergolesi to Gershwin by way of Strauss (Richard and Johann II) and others, but centring on Debussy’s Quatre Chansons de Jeunesse.
The concerts are arranged by the Friends of the Williamson: they start at 2pm at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum, Birkenhead; they are free to attend but donations are welcomed.
