Aviva Community Fund - we need your votes

We are delighted to have been accepted to go forward for a public vote to secure some community funding from AVIVA. Please register and vote up to ten times for our application for developing The Quad at The Williamson Art Gallery, in the heart of the building to provide and outdoor community space which can be used by all.

Voting will happen for 28 days from today until the 22nd of November, it will be reduced to finalists and by 10th of January, the winners will be announced. Some people are reporting back that they find the registration process a little slow, please bear with it or try a different computer or even a different time of day to vote. I expect there is quite a bit of traffic on the site at the moment.

I took this photo below during the early stages of planning and looking at Peter Gommon and David Ainsley's design for the space with the Friends of the Williamson Art Gallery and Wirral Museums committee. The charity has designated £10,000 towards the project and have been grateful to individual donors for donating through Just Giving. We will ramp up the JUST GIVING page after we have officially changed our name to WILLIAMSON AND PRIORY FRIENDS on the 1st of November.

David and Peter's design is a clever use of a small space that is a little sun trap and they have designed the area to be useable by people of many different abilities. It will be a great addition to the building for weddings, for social occasions as well as providing a space for people in nearby houses to have a safe and tranquil space to use five days a week.
